Writing Contest

The SAFE Task Force, in partnership with Certified Peer Specialist and author Jen Silbaugh of A Dove in the Shadows, presents the “MY JOURNEY” Writing Contest. This opportunity provides a safe space to share your personal story of loss, odds of overcoming, resilience, and recovery. By sharing your story, you are bringing light to a topic once in the shadows and shifting conversations about mental health from hopeless to hopeful.

The “MY JOURNEY” writing contest aims to reduce stigma related to suicide by encouraging peers to share their stories. By sharing your story you are letting others know they are not alone in their struggles. This contest encourages you to use writing as a coping skill and a way to heal. Together we can support each other through our pain and fight to end suicide.
