Black Mental Health Summit
The Black Mental Health Summit addresses the unique challenges that members of Pittsburgh's Black community are facing, how stigma can be a barrier to seeking treatment, and the obstacles experienced when getting help.
If you’re thinking about suicide, the pain you’re feeling is real. But you are not alone. Millions of people experience these emotions – and there is help. The SAFE Task Force of Allegheny County connects individuals, families, professionals, and communities with resources, support, and education to end suicide.
Thoughts of harming yourself or death by suicide can leave you feeling scared, sad, or ashamed, and you may not know where to turn. Or if you’re concerned that a loved one is considering death by suicide, it can feel difficult to know what to say or how to help. Even some health professionals can find it challenging to talk about. But talking saves lives. The SAFE Task Force has resources, support, and information that can help make a difference in your life or in the life of someone you care about.
